| Modi rules out possibility of Indian Muslims dancing to the tunes of al-Qaeda | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 20: If a section of muslims in India and majority of them in Jammu and Kashmir are blamed for alleged involvement in militancy related activities it is the fault of extremists and some terrorist outfits, including the al-Qeda and the Taliban, that have simply maligned the name of muslims.
These terrorists and extremists, most of them living in Pakistan and Afghanistan,have been trying to exploit some muslims in India,including in Jammu and Kashmir, by motivating them, by encouraging them and by influencing them for taking gun and grenades in their hands. And whenever and wherever any muslim is caught or killed while engaged in terrorist strikes it tarnishes the image of muslims.
During the last over two decades fundamentalists and activists belonging to some non-secular organizations have been able to exploit the situation by dubbing all muslims as anti-national and terrorists.
And what is astounding is the way Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has come to support muslims by telling the world that the Indian muslims were never prepared to dance to the tunes of terrorist outfits, including al-Qeda.
In an interview to a news channel Modi has said that the Indian Muslims will live and die for India adding that they will not dance to the tunes of terror outfit al-Qaeda. "My understanding is that they are doing injustice towards the Muslims of our country. If anyone thinks Indian Muslims will dance to their tune, they are delusional."
That Modi has complete faith in muslims' loyalty to India is evident from his statement in which he said that the Indian Muslims will live for India, they will die for India - they will not want anything bad for India.
When asked what was the reason for a situation in which out of the 170 million Muslims in India, there seemed to be no or very few members of al-Qaeda even though it is in Afghanistan and Pakistan? Modi explained that the question is whether or not humanity should be defended in the world. Whether or not believers in humanity should unite. This is a crisis against humanity, not a crisis against one country or one race. So India has to frame this as a fight between humanity and inhumanity, nothing else.
Whatever Modi has said about the Indian muslims should serve as music to their ears because during the last 12 years there has been a vicious campaign against Modi for his alleged involvement in the Gujarat communal riots.
And those who still have doubts about Modi's credibility need to remember how fast he moved and acted in surveying the flood losses in the muslim dominated Kashmir valley.They need to take a note of how fast Modi swung into action by donating liberally for relief fund and for arranging relief material in the form of food packets and medicines.
It was he who directed MPs and the legislators in different states to contribute to the Kashmir flood relief fund from their Constituency Development Fund. He did so without bothering for the campaign separatists and some extremists across the LOC besides a section of mischief mongers had launched against him.While the Jamat-ud-Dawa chief, Hafiz Saeed,blamed Modi for exporting water terrorism to Pakistan and occupied Kashmir, a section within the valley blamed him for having brought the flood waters from Nepal.
What a flight of imagination? Modi had visited Nepal and after about one month of his visit Jammu and Kashmir was flooded by the swollen Chenab and Jehlum. Flood water in Nepal would inundate Brahmputra which flows through Arunachal Pradesh,Assam nd West Bengal.Inundated Nepal rivers will never flow into Jammu and Kashmir but when it come to separatists their imagination can fly faster than light.
And if muslims in India,particularly in Jammu and Kashmir,are seen with suspicion it is the fault of those,across the border,who try to indoctrinate them,emotionally blackmail them,and explot their poverty.Let their religious leaders start a major move for making muslims aware of the machinations of terrorists,extremists and separatists operating on either side of the LOC.Once the Maulanas and the Imams take up the task of enlightening muslims in India it would not allow extremists in other communities and regions to view muslims with suspicion. |
