Jammu, Sept 20: The sixth batch of M.Ed was given a formal welcome in an impressive function at the MIER campus. The Chief Guest on the function was Dr. Arun K. Gupta, noted educationist and Chairman MIER Group of Institutions. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr. Renu Gupta, Director MIER, Dr. Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER, Dr. B.L. Raina, HoD M. Ed Wing, Dr. H.R. Shan, Head Research Wing, Dr. Annie Koul, HoD B.Ed General, Rohnika Sharma, HoD, B.Ed Special Education, along with the faculty of M.Ed department. The students were also informed about the activities, responsibilities and expectations of the PG Department. Dr. Raina advised the new batch to take advantage of the teaching learning environment offered by the college which is top class. He wished them all the best in their learning endeavour. Chairman, Dr. Arun K. Gupta welcomed the students to the MIER family of over 50000 persons who have received education for over 78 years. He said that he has high expectations from the fresh batch of students and was looking forward to a dynamic department. He further observed that the world of education is changing and learning today should go beyond the realms of textbooks and syllabus. Dr. Gupta also touched some of the burning issues of today's education system and exhorted the students to be role models and ideal teacher educators. He also dwelt upon some innovative practices which had been planned for the M.Ed students this year. |
