Jammu, Sept 21: The residents of Nowshera town and adjoining areas  on Sunday observed complete Bandh, demanding transfer and stern actions against police officers including ASP, Nowshera who yesterday restored heavily cane-charge on protestors at Siot, when people were demanding CBI probe into triple murdered case of Kalakot. In yesterday police actions scores of protestors were injured and nine were detained by police under various charges.
Backed by various political parties and Byopar Mandal Nowshera, the family members of deceased constable Sanjay, who was brutally murdered at Kalakot with two  sisters  during intervening night of July 27-28, along-with thousands  of residents of village Bhajnowa and its adjoining areas  gathered at Bus-stand and shouted slogan against JKP.
Addressing  the gathering, the speakers flayed police action in which women, children and aged persons including other protestors had severely injured.
Speaking on the occasion, PDP leaders Surinder Choudhary said that the police had made an un-successful attempt to demoralize the struggle for justice. “The protestors were demanding CBI probe to bring the accused persons into fore, under constitutional rights. But the police, which is trying to hush-up case from very first day to defend its men who are directly involved in murder, restored heavily cane-charged”, he said. He further said that the residents of Nowshera would continue their struggle till deceased Sanjay Kumar’s family get justice.
Meanwhile, BJYM state president, Ravinder Raina also criticized the police action  over peaceful protestors. He said that people behind cane-charge should be punished. Neena Adarsh, a women right activist has urged upon Prime Minister Narindera Modhi to take strict action against police officers who thrashed women, so that the dignity women could save.
Sureshta Devi, sister of  the deceased told Early Times that yesterday’s detainees have not been released so far. “If they are not released today, a massive agitation will be launched against Police and civil administration”, she warned, adding that police’s brutality has been revitalizing their struggle.
“Number of people who are  supporting our cause, increase with each passing day, but the police is not doing its duty”, she regretted, adding that it was very unfortunate that instead of punishing  the killer of Sanjay, Urmila and Nishu, Police have been thrashing the innocent people.
