Jammu, Sept 21 : Even as the Police Chief projects the police personnel as heroes and saviours ofg the people of kashmir, the locals  hold a contrary view. According to them, the flood waters have nurtured friendship between them, and the army.
The state police in the present crisis were invisible in Kashmir and it was only Army, Air force, NDRF and of course the locals who worked to their full potential to save the people who were trapped in flash floods.
But for the army and the Air Force, it would have been fatal for the people of Kashmir who sincerely thank the central assistance and their rescue operation.
Today in a tour, the top cop of state police appreciated the role of police personal for helping people in floods and thanked them for their profesionalism.
The head of the police should have thanked the army, air force NDRF jawans for their sacrificial services and proffesional duties. These jawans day and night leave no stone unturned to rescue the trapped people risking their own lives which include police personal. The Army jawans didn't care about themselves or their area which is popularily known as Badami Bagh cantonment which was fully submerged in water, but their proffesional duties always came in front, they remain in service of common people at large.
Talking to Early Times, Ashiq Ahmed Ganie, a trapped victim said that he and his family was evacuated by army jawans and today if my family is alive, it is because of army and NDRF jawans who gave us new life and our police which only believes in lathi charge or firing were consapicious by their absence. Another person from Batmaloo, Shafat Ahmed, said, state police itself was under water, he cited the example of police control room in Batmaloo, they were themselves trapped and were rescued by locals and army jawans, so don't blame them.
The state administration was a total failure including the state police whose jawans were rescued by army.
The police should learn professionalism from Army and Air force though it is the duty of state govt to see the welfare both in peace and in emergency, army is only to assistance, but collapse of state administration led the central forces to take command of rescue mission. There are many others who echo similar views, and hail the role of army, but majority of people criticize the role of state administration including police and its different wings.
