New Delhi, Sept 21: Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office (PMO) today announced the launch of “Cambridge-India Ramanujan Fellowship” for outstanding students from India to pursue doctoral degree in Cambridge in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Starting from October next year, five fellowships will be awarded which will cover the entire cost of undertaking doctoral study at Cambridge University, he added. Dr Jitendra Singh made this announcement after a meeting with the Vice Chancellor of University of Cambridge Prof. Sir LeszekBorysiewicz, who called on him here today to work out new measures for research collaboration between India and Cambridge. During the meeting, Dr Jitendra Singh described Cambridge as an historic benchmark of academics across the world and said, generations of literate Indians have not only graduated from Cambridge but have also taken lifelong pride in being the Cambridge alumni. |
