Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 21 : A team of Bahujan Samaj Party led by State General Secretary Rakesh Wazir toured the flood affected areas of Nagrota constituency including Nargara, Jhakhar, Gorda, Dhanu.
While speaking over there, he showed great concern over the delay by the revenue authorities in reaching the flood affected areas, assessing the losses and submitting the same to the higher authorities.
He said that in some areas the distribution of the losses ex-gratia has been started and in some areas the Patwaries have not bothered to reach even the effected site and submitted the losses report even and asked the higher authorities to depute other agencies as well like Gram Sewaks, Teachers, people of agriculture department etc. in the assessment of losses and distributing relief material by bifurcating them in small areas & segments as well.
Wazir further said that it is ironical that the ex gratia of last year losses is still not distributed among whole people and even in areas where it is distributed most of the genuine people are still left and asked the concerned that same modus operandi may not be adopted this year as well and categorically emphasized that while submitting the losses of the houses whose one or two walls are broken and cracks have been developed , may be submitted in total loss category likewise the assessment of the losses of crops, animals etc. may also be submitted & given along with other losses as well and good compensation may be given to the aggrieved people.
