Influential news caster fulfil communal forces agenda | BJP shielded DD news caster who called Shankracharya Parbhat as "Takhtay Suleman" and Anantnag as "Islamabad". | | Early Time Report
Jammu, Sept 21 : A Doordarshan news anchor has been sacked after she referred to Chinese President Xi Jinping as 'Eleven' Jinping, apparently confusing Xi's name with the Roman numerals XI but no action has beentaken against that news caster of Doordarshan who had called Shankracharya temple as "Takhtay Suleman" and Anantnag district as "Islamabad". While as news caster at New Delhi has inadvertently pronounced wrong name of Chinese President but the news caster, who was especially deputed from Delhi to cover floods in Kashmir had intentionally called Shankracharya temple as "Takhtay Suleman" and Anantnag district as "Islamabad". Fundamentalist forces in Kashmir, who want to secede from India has changed the name of Shankracharya Parbhat as "Takhtay Suleman" and Anantnag district as "Islamabad" because these forces want to eradicate all symbols of Hinduism from Kashmir. For the last nearly 25 years these fundamentalist forces were trying to change these names. What fundamentalist forces cannot do in 25 years, BJP government did in its 100 days. The news caster was especially deputed from New Delhi to cover the flood so she would have been properly briefed about game-plan of fundamentalist forces. Not once but that news caster had repeatedly used that names to give an impression to the world that officially names of these two places have been changed. Credible sources said that matter was immediately brought to the notice of authorities concerned but no action was taken because that news caster has backing of a senior BJP leader. The Jammu based BJP leader, who has clout at the central level, had protected that news casters who toed pro-Pakistan line during flood and accomplished nefarious designs of anti-national forces by abusing his official position. This BJP leader had immediately hushed up the matter. As reported in a media, the blooper occurred on a show on Doordarshan news on Wednesday when a news caster used eleven in the name of Chinese Prime Minister. "It is an unpardonable mistake," the official told a news agency on the condition of anonymity, saying the anchor was employed on a casual basis. "We have debarred her from news reading for a few months." |
