Bankers hold DLRC meeting in Kathua

Kathua, Sept 22: Lead Bank Office, Kathua, organised DLRC meeting of bankers and heads of Government Departments of Kathua district today at DDC office, Kathua to review the flow of GLC, performance of banks in key areas relating to deposits, advances under priority sector, lending for the quarter ended June 2014.
The meeting was chaired by Dr Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary, DDC, Kathua, wherein Er Narinder Singh Bali, ADDC, Kathua, A K Angurana, AGM, RBI, Aman Kalsotra, AGM(DD), NABARD, Kathua, Vijay Padha, LDM, SBI, Kathua were present.
The Government officers who attended the meeting were Dr Noor Alam, Project Officer, DRDA, Kathua, Dr Surjit Chief Animal Husbandry while prominent bankers who attended the meeting were Shireesh Sharma, Cluster Head, J&K Bank, Kathua, Kapileshwar Dogra, Assistant Vice President, J&K Bank, Kathua, K L Sharma, Area Manager, JKGB, O P Sharma, District Manager, JCCB, Kathua and other district officers.
Addressing the participating members, the Chairman, Dr Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary who also is District Development Commissioner Kathua had a thread bare review of Annual Credit Plan, CD ratio, JKSES /SC-ST-OBC / KVIB / KVIC / DIC / SJSRY / Handloom / Handicraft, with special emphasis on KCC & financial inclusion.
He exhorted all banks and agricultural department to complete the 100% coverage of farmers under KCC.
He emphasized upon the banks to expedite cases for linkage under various schemes and achieve the allocated targets for 2014-15.
Under Jan Dhan Yojana, he desired that all the accounts should be opened on priority as it is the major thrust of Government of India.
Er Narinder Singh Bali, ADDC, Kathua appreciated that the district has achieved the minimum CD ratio of 40% which currently stands at 40.49%.
He impressed upon the banks & line department, to ensure effective coordination in their working, so as to achieve desired results.
He emphasized on the need for awareness camps for off-take of credit in the district.
A K Angurana, AGM, RBI emphasized upon the disbursement under priority sector and advised organising of at least one awareness camp each, every month by rural branches, to focus on aggressive lending in key areas, so as to achieve 100% financial inclusion of all unbanked villages in the district.
Aman Kalsotra, AGM (DD), NABARD discussed DEDS, SHGs, KCC among other issues.
He emphasized on 100% coverage under KCC, which is concern of GoI. Vijay Padha, LDM, Kathua informed the house that under priority sector banks have achieved `Rs 73.51 crores and Rs 104.03 crores under non-priority sector, as on June 2014.
The deposit in the district stood at Rs 3053.71 crore and advance Rs 1236.43 crore.
