3 held for black marketing of Railways' cement | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 22 : Railway Police Katra claimed to have unearthed a gang involved in black-marketing of cement procured by Railways for construction works at Railway station Katra with the arrest of three persons besides seizure of six cement bags from their possession. The accused have identified namely as Bhanu Partap Singh of Pangara Udhampur, Chanchal of Kundarorian Katra and Rattan Singh of Ramnagar Udhampur. "On specific information about cement procured by Railways for construction works at Railway station Katra bearing seal "Not for Sale" is being smuggled out of Railway station and is being sold to outsiders illegally," Police spokesman said while adding, "SSP Railways Katra AK Mahajan constituted a team and arrested three persons and recovered 6 bags of Railway cement bearing seal "Not for Sale". Police spokesperson said that under the directions and supervision of AK Mahajan, SSP Railways Katra a police party headed by Shahzad Ahmed Khan SHO acted promptly and caught hold of abovementioned three persons allegedly involved in illegal sale of cement of railway department meant for construction at Railway station. Spokesman further said that Bhanu Partap who is an employee with contractor of Northern Railways used to strike deal with outsiders and sell the cement meant for Railways illegally with the connivance of others. "A case under FIR No. 6/14 under sections 406, and 411 of RPC registered at police station GRP Katra and investigation started, police spokesperson said. SSP Railways Katra AK Mahajan when contacted told that police has started in depth investigation to find out involvement of more persons and also to ascertain if some Railway employees are having hand in globe in illegal sale of cement or not. |
