Newly posted RDD AEs rue lack of infrastructure, staff in CD blocks | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 22 : Newly posted Assistant Engineers of Rural Development Department (RDD) today expressed their concern over their posting to the new Community Development (CD) Blocks without any infrastructure, staff and working guidelines. A meeting of Assistant Engineers of Rural Development Department (RDD) posted vide government order number 265-RD&PR of 2014 dated 1/09/2014 was held to discuss the problems being faced by them to perform their duties without proper guidelines in their respective CD blocks. The posting not only created confusion among the AEs but it also not defined the powers vested upon them by the government for smooth functioning of their CD blocks. Unfortunately the state is passing through a crucial phase due to flood fury and all the AEs have reported their duties on priority. But due to non availability of infrastructure, inadequate staff (technical/non-technical) as well as working guidelines they are facing lots of hardships to perform their duties in the interest of suffering people. They unanimously decided to putforth all their problems before the Commissioner RDD and further urged upon him to give the control of functioning of newly posted AEs under the technical head/officer i.e. Executive Engineer (REW) in each districts. As the whole state is reeling under the problems due to recent floods and the government machinery has been shattered due to unprecedented flood fury so it is not possible for the AEs to reach out to higher authorities physically or through correspondence/memorandum. They through media made a fervent appeal to Commissioner RDD to look into their genuine demands in the interest of the general public so that the newly posted AEs along with their staff can provide their guidance and technical assistance to the department. |
