Commissioner JMC inspects facilities to pilgrims at Bahu Fort

Jammu, Sept 23: Keeping in view the coming Navratra festivity, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Kiran Wattal alongwith Health Officer Dr Saleem Khan, Executive Engineers, CTO and field staff of Health & Sanitation Wing today conducted an extensive tour of Bahu Fort area to access the working of different wings of JMC deployed for preparedness to provide facilities to the pilgrims visiting holy temple of Bawe-e-Walli Mata. During the tour Commissioner inspected a park near Gorkha Nagar and directed the concerned Executive Engineer for its immediate repair and to improve the quality of painting of boundary wall and grills. He also passed on spot directions to health wing to expedite the cleanliness / desilting of all the routes leading to darbar including lanes & drains. Here it needs to mention that to maintain cleanliness at shrine during Navratras around 30 nos of additional Safaikaramcharies have already been provided. The Health Officer JMC assured the Commissioner JMC to provide round the clock sanitation facilities. The functioning of skid loader machine which has been pressed into service to clear the pedestal area from parking to Darbar, for the first time in Bahu Fort area was also monitored by Commissioner JMC personally and on spot directions were issued to expedite the cleaning. JMC Commissioner also issued to on spot directions to provide mobile toilet van & drinking water facility during Navratras. 10 numbers. of additional foot operated dustbins too have been placed in the main market and at Langar sides. Later on Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr Zafar Iqbal along with field staff on the directions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Kiran Wattal also conducted a drive at Satwari, Gangyal, Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Trikuta Nagar etc. During the inspection about 175 quintals of milk was checked in different areas by way of different methods and fine to the tune of Rs 6000/- has been realized from the defaulters.
