Jammu youth creates world record in delivering longest speech | | | Asif Iqbal Naik JAMMU, Sept 23: In an extraordinary feat, the first of its kind in the history of Jammu and Kashmir-a youth from Jammu city, Vikrant Mahajan created a world record for delivering the longest speech ever by beating the previous record of Rob Moore of England. Vikrant bettered the record of 46 hours 21 minutes set by Moore by continuing his speech for 48 hours and 30 minutes. A lot of the people from around the world tried to achieve the milestone, but Vikrant finally manged to break it when he (Vikrant) delivered a speech on title "Yes Thank You Universe" in a programne held at K L Sehgal Hall Jammu. The aim and object of the Vikrant's speech was to motivate the people of Jammu; especially the youths to be constructive in life and to make a positive impact on the society. "I just wanted to demonstrate through this event that if one dreams big and is determined then anyone can do anything," said Vikrant while talking to Early Times. He said that the event was sponsored by BD Security Pvt Ltd and Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Jammu. He said that the event was videographed, photographed and added that all the criteria set by the "Guinness Book of World Records" for consideration in record book was followed. He said that all details including the relevant documents and proofs will be forwarded to the officials of the "Guinness Book of World Record" for entry of his achievement into record. Vikrant further said that the process of official declaration of the world record by Guinness will take at least six months. He thanked his parents, family members, friends and all his supporters for their support and encouragement. Vikrant has done his school from Presentation Convent High School and did his graduation from SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu. After finishing his college, Vikrant did his further studies in Book Publishing at the University of Denver and Film Making at the New Your Film Academy. He had also written at least six books on "Motivation and Positive Thinking", beside also had interest in Bollywood and Body building and participated in Grasim Mr. India contest 2003 where he was declared as 1st runner up. |
