Kishtwar, Sept 29 : Acting on the September 28 Early Times news report, Doda police today registered an FIR against the miscreants who were involved in trimming the hair of an ReT teacher.
The news item had appeared under the caption "Miscreants trim hair
of ReT to malign his image". The miscreants tortured the ReT teacher and cut his hair after they found him talking to his woman colleague, a mother of two children.
As per the details available with "Early times", FIR No 187/2014 under sections 342, 323, 504 and 506 of RPC and 66 of IT Act was registered at police station, Doda, against unknown persons who will now be identified from the video and photographs which were in circulation in the district. While confirming the registration of the FIR against the miscreants involved in the trimming of hair of ReT teacher Rajesh Parihar of Dhara, Doda, followed by the videography of the crime, SSP, Doda, Mohammad Sharief Chowhan said that some locals though brought the matter to police notice, neither the victim nor his family agreed to register any case against the culprits.
He said that at the time of summoning of both the parties, the victim did not mention anything regarding the trimming of his hair and instead preferred to resolve the issue amicably through elders and local panchayat. He said that at their time of arrival at police station, the victim had covered his head with a cap as a result of which police did not notice that his hair had been trimmed. He said that after following the set procedure, the matter was disposed off by the police in accordance to the willingness of both the parties.
"As soon as we read the news in Early times and got the video clip showing the barbaric act of trimming hair of the victim, police without wasting any time registered the FIR in this regard at police station Doda under relevant sections of law and started its investigation" said the SSP. He said the culprits will be dealt with as per law and no one will be allowed to take the law into his own hands.
