Jammu, Sept 30: As a part of celebration of "National Voluntary Blood Donation Day," Red Cross Unit and NSS Unit of Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society, Region, Jammu, PG Department of Blood Transfusion and Medicines, Govt. Medical College, Jammu and J&K State Aid Control Society, Jammu organized a voluntary blood donation camp today at Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar Jammu. According to press release, Principal Dr. Kiran Bakshi inaugurated the blood donation camp. While speaking on the occasion lauded the gesture of Red Cross Unit and NSS Unit of the College who come forward and donated the blood for humanitarian cause. R.C. Puri, Hony. Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Region Jammu who also threw light on the importance of Voluntary Blood Donation and appreciated the spirit of discipline, devotion, dedication and enthusiasm of the Red Cross and NSS Units of the College. Dr. Vijay Sawhney, HOD Blood Transfusion Department, GMC, Jammu delivered a lecture on the importance of the Voluntary Blood Donation and asked the students to come forward for this noble cause by donating Blood. More than 61 Units of Blood was donated by the students of the College. |
