BOPEE continues with its `bad' habits Counsels 2 students a day 9/30/2014 11:40:26 PM Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 30: The Board of Professional Examinations which has earned a dubious distinction of being a corrupt organization after its involvement in exam scam has not changed its functioning despite its revamping. The BOPEE which has today called the students from different parts of Valley for counselling for the Bachelor of Unani Medicines (BUMs) today delayed the process for entire day. Though the candidates were called to report at 8 am in the morning, the officials up to 3 p.m had only conducted the counselling of two students. Sources said that the students from far flung areas of Kupwara, Anantnag, Shopian, Uri, Karnah had managed to report the BOPE office at 8am in the morning. But much to their surprise the authorities failed to conduct the counselling upto 3pm. The delaying practice and tactics by the authorities had generated a lot of resentment among the candidates who said in view of the disturbing situation in Valley they are unable to return to their destinations, sources added. Sources said that up to 3pm the interviews of only two candidates were conducted while scores of them were waiting for the whole day. This has generated a lot of resentment among the candidates and they accused the authorities of BOPEE of highhandedness who are working arbitrarily. The candidates said that despite repeated pleas the authorities failed to conduct the counselling in time. Some of the candidates said that they have no shelter in Srinagar as the city is still under water and in case the delay in counselling they can't return to their homes. Criticising the BOPEE they said its functioning has not improved even after the arrest of former BOPEE chairman and they continue to function in arbitrary way putting the candidates to lot of humiliation and harassment.
