Punjab Revenue Minister, Industrialists visit Kashmir, donate relief worth crores

Srinagar, Oct 1: The visit of delegation of industrialists from Punjab headed by none other but the Revenue Minister of Punjab himself today gave a respite to thousands of flood affected people who still are living in relief camps across Kashmir and are dependent on all such sort of assistance. The delegation from Punjab today distributed relief worth tens of crores material among the flood affected people of valley.
Revenue Minister of Punjab Vikramjeet Singh Majithia, along with dozens of noted industrialists of different Districts of Punjab reached to Gurudwara Shaheed Bunga Barzullah Srinagar with a convoy of 11 trucks and dozens of light motor vehicles loaded with relief material including food items, bedding, blankets, clothes, baby foods and water pockets worth tens of crores and distributed among thousands of needy people living in the Gurudwara and in adjacent areas.
While handing over relief material to the office bearers of Gurudwara shaheed Bunga Barzullah, Mr Singh said, 'People inreespective to religion and caste must contribute in relief to show their solidarity with flood affected people of Kashmir. He also said, "The Chief Minister of Punjab, Prakash Singh Badal has already assured all sort of help to the government of Jammu and Kashmir." Further assuring the people in distress, he categorically said, "Doors in Punjab are open for the flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir in this hour of grief and whenever assistance is required in any form, the Punjab shall be standing beside the people of Jammu and Kashmir."
Hailing the Gurudwara management, Revenue minister from Punjab said, " Shaheed Bunga Barzullah is reportedly feeding and accommodating around 200 hundred flood affected families of different districts of Kashmir and has proved to be a silver line in darkness for the needy people from various religions of the society and some particularly of Sikh Community.
The office Bearers of Gurudwara Shaheed Bunga Barzullah including the President Gurjeet Singh and executive member Surinder Singh Chani while expressing their gratitude towards the visitors thanked the Revenue Minister of Punjab and industrialists for donating relief material to flood affected. Soon after unloading the relief material, the Gurudwara management distributed relief material among thousands of flood affected people who were waiting in long queues since morning to get their hand on it desperately. Worth to mention here that management of Gurudwara Shaheed Bunga Barzullah is being lauded by the people from Kashmir for its humane gesture launched since September 6 and it became a ray of hope for many who got shelter at historic religious place which once again emerged as a 'symbol of humanity and oneness.'
