Two decades on, lecturers stay at Kathua, Jammu 50 % Hindi, 60% Urdu lecturers stick to choicest places 10/1/2014 11:27:41 PM Akshay Azad JAMMU, Oct 1: The overstaying syndrome is not confined to a particular stream. 50% Hindi and 60 percent Urdu lecturers are overstaying in college of their choice. According to information available with Early Times, one interesting case is of Sangeeta Kumari, whose influence could be gauged from the fact that she remained untouched during transfers for the last 19 years and since 1995, she is at GDC Kathua due to reasons best known to authorities. Same type of influence is enjoyed by Renu Bala Nanda, presently posted at MAM College, who is in Jammu city colleges for the last more than 20 years. During her total Government service of 22 years, only for two years she was posted at WC Udhampur but for the last 20 years, she is shuttling from one city-college to another and remained inert to transfers. Moreover, Jugal Kishore Puri posted at WC Gandhi Nagar is also overstaying in Jammu for the last 17 years. From year 1997 to 8/2011, he was at WC Parade and since 2011, he is at WC Gandhi Nagar. It is still a million dollar question, why administration has adopted pick and choose policy during transfers and it also pointed towards a fact that those who are working for growth of transfer industry are also beneficiaries while those who are honest are sidelined and thrown to peripheries. Jugal Kishore Puri is another influential lecturer presently posted at WC Gandhi Nagar but has been overstaying in Jammu for the last 17 years. From 1/97 to 78/2011 he was at WC Parade and from 8/2011 he is at WC Gandhi Nagar. Tilak Raj Sharma presently posted at GDC Kathua has been overstaying for the last 14 years while Satish Kumar posted at COE Jammu has been overstaying for the last 10 years. Satish Kumar remained at MAM College from 6/2004 to 3/2013 and now is posted at COE Jammu. Raj Kumari posted at COE Jammu has been overstaying for the last six years and in the last six years, she has been transferred thrice but within Jammu city. Moreover, Anupama Sharma posted at GDC RS Pura, Mamina Matoo posted at WC Parade, Urmila Rani posted at WC Gandhi Nagar, Ashwani Kumar posted at GDC Doda have been overstaying for the last 5 years. Interesting is the case of six other lecturers who are posted after year 2009, as all of them have been transferred two to six times in last five years of service, that too in violation of transfer policy but secured their choicest colleges, by greasing the palms of higher officials. These lecturers are Balwan Singh presently posted at WC Gandhi Nagar who was transferred six times in last five years, while Rakesh Kumar Sharma posted at GDC Hiranagar was transferred four times, Mahraj Krishan posted at GDC Mahanpur transferred thrice, Kanwal Jeet posted at GDC Samba transferred thrice, Poonam posted at WC Gandhi Nagar transferred twice, and Parveen Kumari posted at WC Udhampur was transferred twice in last four years.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
