| Canteen worker lured into domestic help by former Comm Secy, attempted suicide | | GMC&H principal planned her ouster to benefit former CM's close aide | |  Bivek Mathur
JAMMU, Oct 1: A woman who ran a canteen at Members Faculty Club had to resort to consuming poison to end her life after being cheated by the administrative apathy at different forums.
Surinder Kour, a canteen runner at MFC was assured a job by the then Commissioner Secretary M K Dwiwedi on a pretext that she works as a housemaid to him.
While the guillotine on the gullible fell who had to lose her job as canteen worker, it was Principal GMC who played the spoilsport, only to benefit a close relative of former chief Minister of the State.
The entire enigma was disclosed by Surinder Kour, the victim who said that former Commissioner Secretary Health and Medical Education Manoj Kumar Dwiwedi who has been appointed as Private Secretary to Kalraj Mishra, Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) had promised her a job and was paid an amount of Rs. 14,400.00 as salary by diverting the funds from NRHM, a copy of which is in possession of Early Times.
The women was paid Rs. 14,400.00, which she said was her two months' salary though promised six months' salary with signature of Provisional Nodal Officer, NRHM Kashmir, State Health Society, Jammu and Kashmir.
With this, the woman also alleged that some top political leaders of the state and former Principal, Government Medical College Jammu-Aniece Choudhary had also allured her with similar benefits on condition of working at their official residences.
The height of corruption prevailing at GMC&H can be gauged from the fact that a poor lady was first ousted out of the Government Guest House/Medical Faculty Club against the set norms just to benefit a IV Class employee who is said to be close of a senior doctor who is relative of the former Chief Minister. Under such conditions, the woman attempted to commit suicide but with the timely efforts of the doctors, her life was saved.
The Principal of the GMC&H has been sitting as a mum duck over the entire issue till now and has failed to explain the process of ousting the woman till date as the woman was asked to vacate canteen through a written order issued by Dr. Zahid Zillani on 16-09-2014 but in a sad state of affairs, the Principal forwarded an order to Dr. Zahid Zillani confirming his (Dr. Zahid Zillani's) ousting from the MFC Committee on 18-09-2014 with back date of 20-08-2014. |
