Conman held for alleged rape attempt upon class 12th student | | | Jammu, Oct 1: Domana police arrested a conman for allegedly assaulting a class 12th girl with an intent to outrage her modesty during so called exorcism of bad spirits. A case in this regard stands registered. "The accused has been identified as Satish Kumar of Janipur, police sources said As per reports, the conman manipulated the parents of the victim girl is under the influence of some bad spirits and had cast a spell on her. "The parents of the girl came in contact with the conman following their daughter's prolong illness, they said. The alleged accused took the girl in a isolated room and tried to outrage her modesty in lieu to extort bad spirits. However the girl got awake to ill intended moves of conman and raised alarm which attracted attention of her parents who rushed to her help and caught hold of him (conman) before he could escape. Following the complaint of the family members of girl, the Domana police arrested the accused under section 354 RPC. Brothers assaulted by shopkeepers, counter FIRs registered Jammu, Oct 1: Situation become panicky today when a group of seven persons attacked two brothers running shop in the Purani Mandi area of old city after the two sides have heated exchange of words."Injured have been identified as Naresh Gupta and Rakesh Gupta, who also run shop in Purani Mandi, police sources said, adding that police have registered counter FIRs after the two sides reported the matter to concerned police. The injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment as Rakesh got fracture in his arm excluding other injuries," Naresh Gupta, one of the victim said, "there are so many illegal kiosks running in Purani Mandi and I just asked one of them to make some space to a woman who was selling earthen lamps for last more than 5 years for just nine days during Navratras. "But irate over the request, two shopkeepers Pinki and Kittu alongwith others attacked him and his brother with hard blows and sticks, lamented Naresh. He however accused the police of playing a dubious role and sheltering the criminal elements of the area. He alleged that also claimed that police is pressurizing them to withdrew the complaint and when they denied police lodged counter FIR against them.
Tools spare parts worth Rs 15 Lakh stolen Jammu, Oct 1: Some unidentified burglars looted tool/spare parts worth Rs 15 lakh after breaking into a godown of M/s Special Machine Tools at Delli in outskirts of winter capital falling under the jurisdiction of Channi Himmat police station. According to police sources, burglars broke into M/s Special Machine Tools at Delli and decamped with spare parts worth lakhs.' Quoting complainant owner of outlet Rajeev Mahajan, police sources said," As per complainant he came to know about the theft this morning when he went to open the shop and found locks broken and items lying helter-skelter and then he informed the police about the burglary. Police have registered a case in this regard but no arrest was made when last reports pour in. |
