Kathua, Oct 19: Provisional President of Jammu Kashmir Kissan Tehreek (JKKT), Banarsi Dass today warned state government in a press conference that if government has not considered our genuine demands, they launching series of agitations. According to press release, recalling the hardships of the farmers' he said that anti-farmer and anti-agricultural policies are responsible. He added that farmers are demanding compensation, which had lost their crops by heavy rains and also demanding an adequate insurance scheme for their crops and supply of seeds/ fertilizers on time and releasing the water from Ravi by Punjab government for irrigation purpose. He further said that on October 13, their organization handed over demands charter to Assistant Commissioner Revenue for Chief Minister. Despite repeated pleas and requests' government is not giving hearing to them. Banarsi Dass also pointed out the paddy seed of 1121, had distributed among the farmers by agriculture department said that it is totally adulterated and inadequate to yielding.In this connection, Tehreek also demanded an adequate compensation to cover up the loss to the farming community. Baldev Singh, Rattan Singh, Dharam Singh, Vasudev Sharma, Ramesh Singh, ram Krishan Saini, Sewa Ram, Vidhya Rattan, Kuldeep Singh, Bodh Raj and many others were present during the press conference. |
