Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 19: The yatra taken by Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) which took out a rath yatra from here yesterday to seek justice for the exiled Kashmiri Pandits, reached Union Territory of Chandigarh today on way to New Delhi.
The yatra, which is led by YAIKS president R K Bhat had reached holy township of Amritsar yesterday evening. The yatris paid obeisance at Golden temple and prayed for the peace of the martyrs there. They also met the prominent leaders and heads of various religious organizations at Amritsar. The YAIKS leaders called on SGPC chief seeking his support for their ongoing struggle. They recalled the role of Sikh Gurus and Maharaja Ranjit Singh in seeking justice for Kashmiri Pandits from tyrant rulers and Afghans. Later they also met various religious heads and prominent KP leaders of Amritsar. The yatra was flagged off by BJP president Amritsar for Chandigarh in the afternoon. The leaders of all organizations whom the YAIKS leaders met assured them their full support in their ongoing struggle for their permanent rehabilitation in their native land of Kashmir. The Yatra reached Chandigarh late in the evening where they will also meet leaders of various political, social and religious organization to solicit their support in their on going struggle. The yatra will leave Chandigarh tomorrow morning for New Delhi where after paying obeisance at Raj Ghat to father of nation the YAIKS activists will put their demands before the Union Government seeking immediate redressal.
It may be recalled that to take their struggle to logical conclusion and seek permanent rehabilitation and resettlement in their native land of Kashmir KP youth under the aegis of Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) took out a rath yatra to Union Capital from here. It was flagged off by BJP spokesperson of the State Farooq Khan.
The YAIKS has decided tot take their struggle to power corridors of Delhi as they failed to get justice during last over 25 years of their exile through the hands of both State as well as Central governments.
R K Bhat president of the YAIKS has accused the successive governments for their failure to settle the problems of displaced Pandits altogether. He said it is unfortunate that this miniscule minority is leading an exiled life for over last 25 years in their own country with Government turning a blind eye to restoration of rights to the community members and their rehabilitation in their native place Kashmir. ``It seems there is no political will to ensure the permanent rehabilitation of the community'', he said. Making a dig at Union Government he said it has completely failed on this account though many feelers were sent for the rehabilitation of the community but never a long term comprehensive plan was drawn for repartition of community. Bhat demanded a thorough probe into the thousands of crores of rupees given by Centre on the name of Pandits saying this all money ahs gone down the drain. The YAIKS is demanding implementation of PM's 6000 job package for KP youth as only 1452 posts were filled out of it, selection of 221
deserving displaced youth who are willing to serve in Valley under PM package, one time compensation for over aged youth under PM's package, return of KPs to Valley by creating smart cities in South Central and North Kashmir and grant of Minority and IDP status to KPs.
