Apple Kids, Sprawling Buds hold competition | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 20: Apple Kids International Pre School, Bantalab and Sprawling Buds School, here celebrated Diwali in a unique way. The students pledged to curb the bursting of noisy and air polluting fire crackers while taking part in different competitions. "The pledge would teach the students to protect the environment, conserve it and would make them aware about the balance to be struck between environment and humans," said Principal of the school, Puja Sharma. Earlier, various competitions were organized involving young students. Senior students exhibited their talent in diya making, door hanging and Rangoli competition. Whereas students from Kindergarten wing were involved in Rangoli and card making thus exploited their hidden talent. A candle making competition for Junior KG students also took place. Students decorated candles using ribbons, stars and glitter. Later, prizes were given away to the winners of various events held during the day. The students were briefed about the importance of the festival by Principal. She said, "We have been conducting this awareness for last six years. So, we appeal to the public to join us in our sincere pursuit to ask people to stay away from burning crackers and to celebrate the occasion with lights."
