Man arrested in Kathua for murdering divorcee sister | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Oct 20: In a possible case of honour killing, the Kathua police today arrested a man for allegedly killing his sister after he suspected her of having illegitimate relations that "dishonoured the family". The deceased was identified as Raseela Begum, daughter of Munir Choudhary of Jamulla area in Rajouri district. The victim was a divorcee. According to the sources, Raseela went missing from her brother-in-law Guffar Din's residence in Mangloor four days back. "Raseela Begum along with her brother, Tanveer Ahmad had gone to their brother-in-law's residence and both went missing from there four days back," sources said. However, the police recovered decomposed body of Raseela Begum with strangulation marks on her neck from the forest area in Mangloor today. During the course of investigation, the police launched a manhunt and arrested Raseela's brother Ahmad from Palli Morh area where he was harvesting in a field. The police sources said that Ahmad was allegedly an absconder as he along with his two accomplices was involved the murder of his one more sister two-and-half-an-years back. A police case in this regard was registered in a police station in Rajouri. The body of the deceased was shifted to sub-district hospital Hiranagar for autopsy and other legal formalities. The police said that three persons including Raseela's brother, his sister and brother-in-law have been rounded up for questioning. |
