Kathua, Oct 20: Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department Kathua on the eve of festivals paid inspection and imposed fine of Rs 19700. According to press release, on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Kathua, special squads of CAPD headed by Assistant Director, TP Singh inspected 47 establishment of Kathua town, Kalibari and Lakhanpur area from which 23 violators are booked under LPG Act, Prices and display Act & EC Act and imposed Rs 19700 penalty from the defaulters.
Besides 21 LPG Cylinder seized from Dhabas, Hotels and Halwai Shops. All the shop keepers, Dhabha Owners, Hoteliers, Sweets Shop Owners and Namkeen manufacturers were directed to not use domestic LPG cylinders for commercial purpose and display rate lists on their respective establishments. Failing which strict action under LPG Act/Price Display Act and Essential Commodity Act shall be registered against the violators. |
