Anti-India march on J&K in London
Pak's provocations grave

Jammu, Oct 21: Pakistan suffered a humiliating defeat in the United Nations when its Secretary General Ban Ki-moon rejected outrightly the Pakistani suggestion that the international body should intervene to get the Kashmir issue resolved. The UN said in unambiguous terms that J&K was a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan and it was for them to resolve it through discussion and dialogue. Even after its defeat, Pakistan continues to take up the issue with the UN Secretary General, but has failed to evoke any positive response from him. As for New Delhi, it candidly told Pakistan that there could be any talks unless Islamabad stopped ceasefire violations and unprovoked firing on our jawans and civilian population.
On the one hand, Islamabad is trying its level best to cultivate the UNGA and violating ceasefire and, on the other, has unleashed anti-India forces in Kashmir and London to put pressure on India so that New Delhi handed over J&K to Pakistan. In Kashmir, Islamabad is using separatists like Geelani and Mirwaiz to create anti-India troubles in the Valley, but with no success, as the people there by and large disobey their diktats. And in London, it has unleashed its agents like former prime minister of the so-called Azad J&K Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry. He has been charged with the responsibility of organizing an anti-India march on Kashmir on October 26, the day J&K acceded to India as per the constitutional law on the subject.
A PTI report on Monday in this regard said: "London is set to witness a 'Million March' in support of independence for Kashmir on October 26" and "thousands of people are expected to participate in the rally that shall begin in London's Trafalgar Square and culminate at Prime Minister David Cameron's office at 10 Downing Street. A petition is also expected to be submitted at the Office asking Britain to 'push' India to resolve the Kashmir impasse with Pakistan". "The people of Kashmir have been struggling for many years to have the right to their own destiny. Imagine Scotland being partitioned into two parts with one being given independence and the other half occupied by British troops at a ratio of one soldier for every two civilians, with restrictions on all their movements. The people of Kashmir have always rejected the idea of having a border separating its people," Chaudhry, in-charge of the march, was also quoted as saying.
It is heartening that the Indian Foreign Office has taken a serious exception to the Pakistani move and is in touch with the British Foreign Office to get the Pakistani anti-India moves on J&K scuttled. The matter was taken up with London by none other than Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj during her talks with Deputy Prime Minister of Britain Nick Clegg in London last week. Not only this, commenting on the Pakistan-sponsored anti-India activities in London, MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin on Monday said that the British side maintained that matters between India and Pakistan should be best addressed and resolved by the two countries. "We had a discussion with our colleagues and interlocutors in London who assured us that their approach to this matter is that matters between India and Pakistan are best addressed and resolved by India and Pakistan and we have confidence that as two pluralist and open societies India and UK will not do anything that is inimical to their interest," he said in response to a question on whether India has taken up the issue with Britain. "There has been a discussion on this matter and that discussion was during the visit of the External Affairs Minister to London recently where she did take up the matter in the context of issues that arise in the open societies when she was discussing these matters with Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg," Akbaruddin further informed media persons in Delhi on Monday.
This shows that the Indian Foreign Office is fully aware of the Pakistani evil designs and that it is taking up the issue with right quarters. It is a matter of great satisfaction that we have finally got a government that we needed.
