Dispose off important files quickly: ECI to JK Govt | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 21: Election Commission of India today asked Jammu and Kashmir Government to dispose of all the important files as soon as possible. Sources told Early Times that the ECI in a communiqué to the state government asked it to clear all the important files forthwith. "Soon after the JK government received the communiqué it asked the administrative heads of respective departments to immediately dispose of all the important files in next few days," sources added. They said that ECI asking the state government to dispose off all the files immediately is an indication about the Commission having made up its mind to hold the assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir in December this year. Pertinently, the Chief Election Commissioner VK Sampath during his recent visit to Kashmir had hinted that elections in the state would be held in December. After ECI's visit several dignitaries and bureaucrats have visited Jammu and Kashmir to asses the situation and have held meetings with the officials regarding the relief and rehabilitation measures taken for flood affected people. Sources said that Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami who winded up his 2-day visit to Kashmir today told the officials to gear up for polls and be ready. |
