Higher Education department violates HC order | One week on, principal refuses to leave MAM College | | G.S. Asgotra Jammu, Oct 22: Despite the fact that Jammu and Kashmir High Court had impugned the transfer order issued by Higher Education department on October 14, transferring Maulana Azad Memorial College Principal Dr. Anita Sudan to Government Degree College Samba vice Ramesh Chander, but for the last one week, the later had not been relieving the college due to some unknown reasons. Sources informed Early Times that on October 14, Higher Education department had ordered transfer of Principal MAM College Dr. Anita Sudan to GDC Samba vice Ramesh Chander, who was posted at MAM College. "Ramesh Chander had joined MAM College on October 14, but Dr. Anita Sundan had went to High Court against the transfer order, terming it in violation of transfer policy", sources said. They further informed that on October 16, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal of J&K High Court had stayed the premature transfer of Dr. Anita Soodan Principal MAM College Jammu who was transferred from MAM College Jammu to Samba College within a period of 10 months. "Justice JR Kotwal after hearing Advs SS Ahmed and Suraj Singh appearing for the petitioner issued notice to the respondents returnable within four weeks and subject to objection from other sides, stayed the operation of impugned transfer order dated October 14, 2014", sources said, adding that despite issuance of stay order, Ramesh Chander has not been relieving the MAM College and reportedly has not joined the college. Sources further informed that even Ramesh Chander had also pleaded before a higher official of Higher Education department, who had reportedly told Ramesh Chander, that it was the Minister who had issued the transfer order and he could not do anything. They further informed that the Government Degree College Samba has been running without Principal for the last six days but the Higher Education department officials as well as the Minister for Higher Education Mohammad Akbar Lone were least bothered about the matter. |
