Bhalla launches development works

JAMMU, Oct 24: Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla has said that the government was committed to create healthy environment in every pocket of urban areas by improving sanitation condition and developing green patches.
"Besides making available all basic facilities like education, healthcare, safe drinking water and quality power supply, the Government has paid focused attention on improvement of lanes, drains, roads and creation of green patches in the form of recreational parks to develop a healthy ambiance in the urban localities.
The Minister was interacting with the residents of Govindpura Kullian and Sanjay Nagar after launching Rs. 17 lakh development works, here today.
Bhalla informed the residents that all out efforts are being made to beautify all the open spaces of Govindpura Kullian and Sanjay Nagar by developing recreational parks to give a face-lift to these areas. He asked the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to remove bushes and renovate the damaged walkways in the parks in these areas. He called upon the people of the area to desist from dumping debris and domestic waste in lanes and drains, adding that such practices create hindrances for executing agencies and spoil the beauty of the areas.
The Minister said that the government was endeavoring hard to develop modern and need based infrastructural facilities in the state, adding to meet this goal all the departments are working in an organized and coordinated manner for ensuring better services to the people.
Addressing locals, the Ministers said that the place would be utilized by the Muslim brethren for Eid prayers. They called upon the people to cooperate with development agencies to develop every nook and corner of three regions of Jammu and Kashmir on modern lines by creating all infrastructural facilities, adding that the Government was fully aware of the aspirations of the people and is making all out efforts to address them in a phased manner.
