Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 24: Continuing its drive against anti social elements indulged in gambling during Deewali festivity, the Police today arrested five gamblers in an isolated place falling under jurisdiction of Nowabad Police Station and recovered Rs 2200/- as stake money from their possession. "On specific information SHO Nowabad, Karan Chalotra conducted a raid at Dogra Chowk Park, Qasim Nagar and arrested five gamblers, police spokesman said here today. Police identified the arrested as Gharu Ram, Vicky Kumar, Raj Singh, Mohan Lal all residents of Qasim Nagar, Jammu and Suresh Kumar of Chand Nagar, Jammu. "Rs 2200/- were recovered as stake money along with playing cards from their possession, police said. Police have booked all accused under 13 Gambling Act and produced them in court of law. |
