State BJP hijacked by new entrants | | | Sandeep Bhat
Jammu, Oct 24 : There is too much confusion in the state BJP. If sources are to be believed, senior and old leaders are being sidelined and the new entrants are being given undue importance. The leaders, who used to have a say in party, are nowadays being neglected and even not heard off. On the condition of anonimity, a senior BJP leader said that there was now no respect for elders in the party which has been hijacked by a few leaders. There is no discipline and many of the new leaders think that they can take any decision. As per sources, there are differences among different leaders on many issues and seniors are unhappy over the treatment meted out to them .The state BJP is now busy in its Mission 44 plus and to get the target, they are making every possible effort. The BJP is trying to encash Modi wave in the coming assembly elections and it has already started its campaign. There are reports that several sitting MLAs will not be given tickets this time and this has raised several questions on the leadership of BJP. In each constituency, there are two to three aspirants for getting tickets and this has also created confusion among the leaders. The central leadership has still not taken any decision on who will be given tickets and who will be the chief ministerial candidate. The recent trend Maharashtra has given mixed results. It remains to be seen if BJP can go alone in state and in case it fails to achieve the 44 plus target, will it go for a coalition government? But the way the seniors are being marginalised and the new entrants are getting importance, only time can tell whether BJP can achieve this target by neglecting the old guard. |
