Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 25: The University Syndicate met in the University of Jammu under the Chairmanship of Vice Chancellor, Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar and took a number of important decisions. BB Vyas, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister/ Admn. Secretary to the Govt, Finance Department, Financial Advisor Universities also attended the meeting. At the outset Prof. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu welcomed the members and appreciated the efforts of all members particularly B.B. Vyas in guiding the University on various Academic and Administrative matters. The Vice Chancellor also informed the Syndicate about various activities/initiatives taken by the University on the matters of importance especially implementation of semester system at UG level and Choice Based credit system at PG level. In this 105th meeting of the Syndicate, 38 Agenda Items were presented by Prof. M. K. Dhar, Registrar, University of Jammu. The revival of Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing and Sales was endorsed. The Syndicate also endorsed the statues governing the Choice Based Credit System. In addition, the University Syndicate also endorsed the modifications in the eligibility/admission criteria to the Post-Graduate courses run through the distance mode. Besides decisions were also taken on other academic and administrative issues The Syndicate meeting was attended by Prof. R.D. Sharma, Department of Commerce, Prof. Desh Bandhu Gupta, Director CDC, Prof. Jigar Mohd., Dean Social Sciences, Prof. Kuldeep Sharma, Dean Life Sciences, Prof. Geeta Sumble, Head, Department of Botany, Prof. Kiran Bakshi, Principal, Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar and Prof. Sameeru Sharma, Principal, Govt. College of Engg. & Tech. Sh. J.K. Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice-Chancellor and Sh. P.P. Sharma Assistant Registrar, Co-ordination were also present. |
