JAMMU, Oct 25: Duggar Lok Manch held meeting here today at Paloura which was presided over by its president Hari Chand Jalmeria. In the meeting, rich tributes were paid to the memory of veteran Dogri Writer Virinder Kesar who died on the day of Diwali. Kesar had won Sahitya Akademi award for his rich contribution to the Dogri literature. Speaking on the occasion Jalmeria said that Kesar was fine and deep thinking writer. He has written many books of poetry in Dogri. His Dogri Gazal has enriched the Dogri literature. Kesar, besides remaining Sahitya Mantri of Dogri Sanstha, participated in the movement for inclusion of Dogri in the 8th Schedule. A two minutes silence was observed in the meeting. Other participants include Shiv Dev Susheel, Subhash Sharma, Ramankant Singh, Samarjit Singh, Inderjit Khajuria, Ranbir Manhas, Balwant Singh, Ajay Singh, Satvir Singh, Kuldip Singh and Arvind Singh. |
