Kishtwar remains without ration on Diwali | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar, Oct 25 : Even though Omar Abdullah led NC- Congress government makes tall claims over distribution of free ration among the flood and rain affected people, the government failed to supply ration to Kishtwar District till date. The local people informed the Early Times that all the ration depots are dry and the people had to return empty handed. The people informed that no rice, flour or sugar was provided to them even on the eve of holly festival Diwali forcing people to purchase essentials from the market. Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution officials informed that they are yet to receive any supply from the department. "Unless government supplied ration, they were helpless. "The people alleged that the officials of CAPD sell the sugar to private shopkeepers and sell the Kerosene to vehicle owners, added that majority of the private commercial vehicles operative in Kishtwar & Doda District uses Kerosene oil daily in place of Diesel, thus causes lot of inconvenience to the people. They also demanded an independent inquiry into misappropriation of government ration in the Kishtwar district through high level team. |
