Samba administration following NC diktats, alleges Singh | Urges CEC to probe 'misuse' of funds meant for flood victims | | Early Times Report
Vijaypur, Oct 29: Accusing district administration of violating Model Code of Conduct in Vijaypur constituency, former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh today appealed the Chief Election Commissioner of J&K to order a probe into alleged misuse of funds meant for flood hit people. Singh alleged that funds meant for flood victims are being siphoned on the directions of a local National Conference MLA of Vijaypur constituency. "The CEO should personally look into the matter and order a probe as to why the funds are being misused," Singh said while addressing party workers here. He alleged the district administration is following the "diktats" of the local MLA and the flood affected people have been left in lurch. "The works have been taken up in those areas which were not affected due to floods. The flood affected people are facing negligence and official apathy under political pressure," he alleged. He alleged the RDD and PWD have been violating Model Code of Conduct to benefit the National Conference MLA. He said elections cannot be conducted in the constituency till action is taken against the accused officials and the concerned MLA.
