Political activities at full swing in Vijaypur segment than Samba | | | Rakesh Jasrotia
Samba, Oct 29 : As per political activities concerned for the upcoming state assembly polls the almost all party candidates are on campaign spree in Samba constituency barring the candidates from two main rivals -BJP and Congress which yet have to announce the candidates while political heat is much more in Vijaypur assembly segment where candidates of the almost all main parties like Dr Harmesh Singh Slathia, Surjeet Singh Slathia , Jagdish Lal verma are leading the election campaign from the first day of the poll notification. As the two main political rivals like BJP and Congress are yet to announce the name of the candidates owing to which the poll campaign by other parties like National Conference, PDP, Panthers and even the independent is not much accelerated till date. Meanwhile political observers in Samba opinioned that with formal announcement of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) ahead of state legislative election the campaign of candidates from the Congress and the BJP may get affected due to less time of campaigning because of the delay in announcing candidates. To its sharp contrast the political candidates in Vijaypur segment have started hectic campaigning which included election activities started by Dr Harmesh Singh Slathia, Surjeet Singh Slathia , Jagdish Lal Verma who are leading the vigorous election campaign from the first one when the Model Code of Conduct was announced. They had travelled widely through their constituency and have addressed series of public rallies to reach out to the voters and to listen to their grievances. Here it needs to mention that Samba segment spreads across Sumb, Nud, Mansar,Purmandal, Uttar-Behani, Birpur, Rattanu-chack, Chouadhi, upto Greater Kailash of the Jammu and to cover the whole constituency is time consuming effort and if Congress and BJP fails to announce their respective candidates at earliest it will further add to their problems. ML Rao a senior leader of the "Congress Sewa Dal" also said that to reach out to voters across the assembly constituency is virtually time consuming process and party needs to disclose the candidate's name so that he/she may get due time Though rumors about probable names at local sphere and even within both the parties are in air yet fact is that two old rivals had yet not announced the names their candidates in the Samba constituency and the local cadre of respective parties simply say they are waiting for party high command's final decision which still is pending. Meanwhile locals from namely Santosh Bhagat, Subhash Bhagat, Jagbir Singh, Paras Ram , Bimla Devi etc briefly said they expect the candidate should be from within their parties and a local representative instead of an outsider. |
