Jammu, Oct 29: Saying that National Conference, Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party were destined to get decimated in the ensuing assembly elections, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) General Secretary Yashpal Sharma today exuded confidence about his party registering a big win and forming government on its own comfortably. While addressing new entrants into party folds from Gandhi Nagar assembly here today, Sharma said this and added that there was no alternative to PDP as the party has strived for ensuring peace and undertaking development during most testing times. In his address, party candidate from Gandhi Nagar assembly segment S Amrik Singh Reen said, "People have understood the significance of a stable government, especially in a state like Jammu and Kashmir which is confronted with problems of varied nature. He described PDP as a public movement, which, he said, and referred to the historic role of PDP in generating political awakening since its inception. Sr leader and ex MLC ved Mahajn, Fallail Singh, Rashid Malik, Balbir Singh, Virender Singh Sonu and others were present on the occasion.Later in the evening, party candidate Amrik Singh Reen also addressed meetings at Channi Himmat and adjoining areas falling under Gandhinagar assembly constituency. |
