Avinash Azad JAMMU, Oct 29: Being an A Grade University' Accredited by NAAC, the University of Jammu is falling pathetically short of its commitments towards students made in statues as it is taking more than double the time fixed to declare results in 45 days. Information obtained under RTI reveals that the Examination wing of the University falls far beyond time frame fixed for declaration of results of examination being conducted by the institution of higher education. "The Examination wing declared results of re-evaluation in 90 days for a single candidate in first semester of MDP in Psychology, Buddhist Studies, Music, Zoology, Education and Sanskrit. From December/ January 2012-13", the RTI revealed, adding that there are more cases where the wing took more than four months to declare the result. The information provided by the University further revealed that the results of students who were pursuing their Master Degree in various departments at JU have to wait for more than four months to get re-revaluation results. "Re-revaluation results of Electronic, Physics, Geology, Economics, Chemistry, English, Political Sciences and Sociology first semester, Psychology, Environment Science, Electronic, Physics, Zoology and Geology 3rd semester were declared even after four months", the RTI disclosed. It further disclosed that the students of various professional and academic courses including MBA, MCA, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, LLB three years and LLB five Years were also victims of lackadaisical approaches of Controller Examination of the University. "The result of MBA first semester May 13, 2014 for which the last exam was conducted on December 24, 2013, last exam MCA first semester was conducted on January 20, 2014 but result declared on July 23, 2014, last exam for Biochemistry was conducted on December 23, 2013 but results declared on May 26, 2014 and same in case of LLB five years first semester for which last exam was held on December 12, 2013 but result declared on March 10, 2014", the RTI reply read. |
