'Foolish' Son Exposes Dabang DIG Dad | Posts pictures of lavish style on internet to impress others | | K Koushal JAMMU, Oct 29: The businessman son of Deputy Inspector General of JK Police has stirred a hornet's nest by posting the pictures about the lavish life style of his father on a social networking site, in which the youth has ostensibly boasted about the Dabang lifestyle of his father. In an apparent abuse of power, the DIG is shown exploiting subordinates and living like a "King." It seems father would have to pay a heavy price for his son's "foolish act" 'Dad and I' as the Director General of Police (DGP) has ordered an inquiry into the incident.. Sources told Early Times that the son of DIG Jammu- Kathua Range Shakeel Beig, operating a social networking sites, Instagram in the name of 'Tonybeig' has posted several photographs with glossy and satire captions showing both father and son allegedly enjoying the benefits of power. The photographs have gone viral on the internet. "One of the photographs shows that a policeman is tying DIG Shakeel Beig's shoelaces." The caption of the photograph reads: "Real king-My Dad!! Last time he put his shoes himself was almost when he was 15 years of age." Another photograph posted by Tonybeig on Instagram shows an armed security personnel acting as a caddie, while the DIG's son takes a cue. Pictures have evoked sharp reactions from the netizens with a few of them charging Beig of running feudalism in the state, while many comparing him with Saddam Hussain. Gulzar Ahmed in his comment on Facebook writes, "Another Sadam Hussain in the making, Let us see what Modi will do to Clean Up this act. These people have ruined the State." Jan Bodh, another user writes, "This is not the case of a single bureaucrat, it is same with politicians and other pet bureaucrats throughout India. They send their children to foreign countries to enjoy whatever black money they have earned. In J&K, it is more common as centre has given special status to J&K." Reacting to the report, PDP chief spokesperson, Naeem Akhtar condemned the act of Jammu DIG and his son for their reported abuse of power, terming their actions as unfortunate. "It's good for the society to have 'whistle blowers' in the family, which exposes wrong doings and put it in public domain," said Akhter, adding such reprehensible acts clearly reflect how top officials in J&K are pampered, "this is unfortunately story of all bureaucrats in J&K," he said. Asked about the course of action, he said that let the government see about it. A senior cop pleading anonymity said that proper enquiry should be initiated in this regard, so that no top officer dares to exploit his subordinates," he said. Meanwhile, repeated attempts to contact Director General of Police (DGP) proved futile. |
