Jammu, Oct 30: Tightening its noose on the drug peddlers and narcotics smugglers Police arrested one person alongwith a huge consignment of intoxicant capsules with trade name 'Proxyvon' during a surprise naka near Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Rotary, Trikuta Nagar Jammu this early morning. "Following a tip off, police party led by SI Showkat Amin Khan under the supervision of SHO P/S Bahu Fort, laid a surprise naka near RBI Chowk, Trikuta Nagar Jammu at around 04:00am and intercepted one Maruti (zen) bearing regd no DL6C-2250 driven by Sanjeet Bhan of H No 1043, Sec-8, Nanak Nagar Jammu, police spokesperson said. Police spokesperson said, "On noticing police the driver of vehicle behaved unusually further making police team suspicious and police let the vehicle thoroughly searched.' "Police team recovered intoxicant drugs strictly prescription drugs which include 760-Proxyvon Capsules and 30-Nitravet Tablets from the vehicle, police said adding, "the accused was arrested on the spot while vehicle was also seized." A case FIR No. 195/2014 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and further investigation is on. |
