What is official timing for an accountability Institute? | SIC caught on wrong foot, office found closed at 3.30pm | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 30: An institute to ensure accountability and transparency within the public authorities in Jammu & Kashmir has been caught on the wrong foot as all the officials right from top to bottom were seen absent with all the office chambers locked at 3.30pm today. As per information available with Early Times some aggrieved persons wanted to meet the SIC officials in connection with a pending case and for this matter they wanted to meet some official at SIC, but to their utter surprise they could only find some security guard in one corner of the SIC office complex and all other rooms were locked. The aggrieved people waited for some time as well and finally they clicked few pictures of the office complex at 3.50 PM just to make it sure that they had visited the office complex at the said time. While talking to Early Times the aggrieved citizen and a whistleblower Surinder Kumar (name changed) said : " We went to the State Information Commission (SIC) office at around 3.30 pm on Thursday regarding a pending second appeal case which is not being decided from the lat many months , and in this regard i and my friends wanted to meet some officials of the commission at Wazarat Road Jammu , but we could not find even a single official there. We thought may be ground floor is not in use, and went to the first floor but here also all the office chambers including that of Information Commissioner Dr SK Sharma were locked and I took few pictures of the locked rooms as well. I only saw a security guard who told me that all have left." As per details available the office chambers of State Information Commissioner Dr S K Sharma, Chief Accounts Officer as well Deputy Secretary were found locked at 3.30pm and the aggrieved citizens even took its pictures also. RTI activists, whistleblowers have demanded that Governor N N Vohra , Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) G R Sufi should take this matter very seriously and initiate a commission of inquiry into this matter. |
