Separate HC bench for Chenab region demanded | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Oct 31: President District Bar Association (BA), Doda Advocate Imtiyaz Mir today demanded the establishment of a Permanent High Court Bench of Jammu and Kashmir High Court in Chenab Region. While talking to "Early times", Advocate Mir said that for providing speedy justice and at door step of masses as guaranteed under the constitution, Chenab region of Jammu province deserves to have a permanent bench of High Court to decide the legal rights of the people of this far flung area. He said that thousands of cases from this remote region go pending before the High Court and many even are lying pending for over a decade. Citing examples, Adv Mir said, "Appeal cases from the motor accidental claim tribunal are pending wherein crores of Rupees as compensation still elude poor Labourers and to the relations of those killed in road accidents only due to reason cases go pending at High Court. He also made an appeal to all the political parties to treat it as a human issue and to keep it on the priority of their election manifesto. He further said that the lawyers' community from erstwhile Doda district has raised this demand since long and would continue its struggle till demand is not fulfilled. |
