| Alleged violation of MCC | | NC MLA slapped notice | |

RAJOURI, Oct 31: Basharat Hussain ,Returnng Officer Kalakot Constituency on the direction of District Election Officer (DEO) has served a notice to Thakur Rashpal Singh NC MLA ,Kalakot for violating Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
Deputy Commissioner (DC) who is also DEO has also directed Chief Medical Officer to place under suspension senior Pharmacist identified as Mohd Farooq Mirza posted at district hospital for taking part in a motor rally organized by the MLA, Kalkot on Thursday.
On Thursday MLA had organized a motor rally reportedly without seeking prior permission from RO, Kalakot.
The rally was taken out from Kalakot to Shahdra Sharief Ziarat for seeking blessing of Baba Ghulam Shah Badsh and the rally was joined by many supporters on way to Ziarat situated in Thanamandi tehsil about 70 kilometers from Kalakot.
When the rally reached Thanamndi political activists from other parties lodged a complaint with 'complaint cell' about the presence of large number of vehicles and supporters of MLA at Thanamandi.
Taking cognizance of the complaint DEO, Jatender Singh directed the nodal officer MCC to verify the complaint and it was found genuine and accordingly Returning officer , Kalakot Constituency was directed by the DEO (Dy Commissioner) to issue show cause notice to MLA for violation of MCC and if found guilty also lodge FIR against him.
RO, Kalakot , when contacted said that on the directions of DEO he has issued show cause notice to the MLA and suitable action, under rules and regulations laid down by the ECI, will be taken against him if found involved in violation of MCC. |
