Coalition deliberately allowed MCs, BDCs to collapse: Hamid Choudhary | 'Mufti intends to take youth along' | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 31: Seeking active support of youth of the state during ensuing assembly elections, People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Chief Election Coordinator for Jammu Province, Abdul Hamid Choudhary today said that party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and party chief Mehbooba Mufti want to take along youngsters in changing the fate of people of Jammu and Kashmir. The state he said has been pushed back on the path of development and coalition government deliberately allowed Municipal Corporations (MCs) and Block Development Councils (BDCs) to collapse. Had elections to these democratic institutions held well in time, powers would have been decentralised right up to grass root level. Choudhary Hamid asserted that PDP stands for empowering people at grass root level. On several occasions chief minister, deputy chief minister, minister for rural development and others announced holding elections to these institutions but miserably failed to honour their commitments made with their voters. Past six years were a waste of time and money wherein government banked upon mere sloganeering and did nothing on the ground. Choudhary Hamid urged youth to join PDP, strengthen hands of Mufti Mohamamd Sayeed and lead the state to new heights where more jobs are created, industrial sector revived, education system made job oriented, agriculture produce increased, mega yet affordable and clean cities developed besides accessible health care system put in place. He said youth are the real force to reckon with without whom no government can sustain. Appreciated the role played by PDP during its previous rule, Choudhary Hamid said that time has come to thrown the corrupt and incapable government out of power which failed its own people. Young and aged, entrepreneurs and agriculturists, industrialists and even employees all want a big change in the state and that can only be provided by PDP. The PDP leader said time has come to assess the credibility of political outfits, review their past performance and then exercise right to franchise in right earnest to have a transparent, effective and most importantly answerable government in Jammu and Kashmir for next six years so that development of people and places restarted with vigour and commitment. |
