Jammu, Nov 9: Former Chief Secretary and National Conference MLC Sheikh Ghulam Rasool who is a new entrant to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today launched a scathing attack on Omar Abdullah for disrespecting NC Patron Farooq Abdullah on social networking site Twitter over his (Sheikh Ghulam Rasool's) as well as Ajat Shatru's accommodation in the party as MLCs.
Rasool questioned how could Omar Abdullah decide whether I am deadwood or alive? "Let the public decide this and wait for the results of the elections after which it would be better declared who has actually turned deadwood", said Rasool in a telephonic conversation with Early Times.
"I would not say anything against Farooq Abdullah who is a mature and intelligent politician as I respect him and will respect him for his decisions but saying such things on social networking site is really a disgrace to Farooq Abdullah by his son who is President of the party and by no stretch of imagination it suits to a politician who is Chief Minister of the state", quoted Sheikh Ghulam Rasool.
Rasool further added that if Omar Abdullah has some other "deadwoods" in sight, he should take a firm decision and clean them once for all so that it would be a National Conference of Omar Abdullah's choice and not a NC of his father Farooq Abdullah.
"Why Omar took 6 years to identify these deadwoods? He should have identified these deadwoods earlier during his tenure as CM and has cleared them to run a Government of his choice", added Rasool.
Questioned over sudden shift from National Conference after being associated with the party for the last 20 years, Rasool said he was not happy with the decisions taken by Omar Abdullah as Chief Minister of the state for the last six years in the Government and the moment Omar decided to quit Ganderbal Assembly constituency, he quit National Conference. He said same reason he has mentioned in his resignation letter which he has handed over to Omar Abdullah.
Pertinently former Chief Secretary Sheikh Ghulam Rasool reacted to two tweets of Omar Abdullah on social networking site Twitter wherein he (Omar) has dubbed Sheikh Ghulam Rasool and Ajat Shatru Singh as "opportunists" and "deadwoods" who had wasted their six years in National Conference as MLCs.
