98 influential Inspectors, SIs, ASIs overstaying in Jammu Zone
IG advocates 'administrative issues' behind retention

Jammu, Nov 21: Prolonged stay in government departments against a set norms in accordance with transfer policy has become a special feature of Jammu and Kashmir State and Police department is no exception to the phenomena.
Official information available with Early Times reveals that 98 influential Inspectors/Sub Inspectors/Additional Sub Inspectors are staying in Jammu Zone for last more than three years.
The information further reads that there are 23 Inspectors, 39 Sub-Inspectors and 36 Additional Sub-Inspectors whose stay has been counted more than three years in single Jammu Zone.
The information has been revealed through an RTI filed by this scribe about the total number of SHOs/Incharge Police Posts whose stay is more than three years in a single Jammu Zone.
IG Jammu, Rajesh Kumar when contacted to comment on the reasons behind overstay of these 98 police officers, replied: I am presently in Kishtwar and as far as the overstay of these police officers is concerned, there are certain administrative issues which cannot be discussed on phone owing to which they are being retained in a single zone".
Among the 23 inspectors are Inspector Mohd Qasim, Jatinder Singh, Vinod Kumar, Kewal Kishore, SurinderKhudyal, Satish Kumar, Ravinder Singh, Shiv Dev Singh, Naresh Sharma, Kamal Dev, Ajit Singh, Arjun Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Masoof Ahmed, Prithipal Singh, Rouf Ahmed Khan, Rakesh Akram, Narinder Singh, Sadakat Hussain, Vikram Singh, Rakesh Mani, Barkat Hussain and Mohd Azeem.
Among the Sub-Inspectors are SI Surinder Sharma, Arti Thakur, Bashir Ahmed, Kuldeep Raj, Hilal Mohd Azhar, MohdArif, Mashkoor Ahmed, MohdIqbal, Altaf Hussain, Neelam Saini, Ranbir Singh, Sumit Sharma, Sunil Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Nayat Ali, Rakesh Kumar, Joginder Singh, Nishant Gupta, Ajay Singh, Rajeshwar Singh, Davinder Singh, Sachinder Paul Singh, BrahmDev Singh, Shiv Dev Singh, Pritam Singh, Ranjit Singh, Vinod Kumar, Naresh Sharma, Mohd Sharief, Mehmood Khan, Urfan Khan, Sanjeet Sharma, Mohd Bashir, Naim Ul Haq, Nazir Ahmed, Mohd Irfan, Nissar Ahmed, Dost Mohammad and Ravi Singh.
Among the Additional Sub-Inspectors whose stay is more than three years in Jammu Zone are Sohan Lal, Ashok Kumar, Kuldeep Singh, Talib Hussain, Chaman Lal, Ashwani Kumar, Sher Ali, Joginder Raj, Kuldeep Raj, ChuniLal, Nazir Ahmed, Krishan Lal, Kamal Kumar, Gian Singh, Maqsood Ahmed (Now SI), Mohd Sharief, Mohd Zaman, Mohd Rashid, Sageer Hussain, Khalid Hussain, Lal Mohd, Alla Dad, Jagdish Raj, Maan Singh, Talab Hussain, Mohd Javid, Mohd Iqbal, Abdul Aziz, Bishan Lal, Nazam Din, Aftab Hussain, Kashmir Singh, Mohd Alyas, Mohd Sharief and Mohd Latief.
