JKP Hockey team turns Hockey Turf to battle field | Coaches remained mum, outsiders pacified quarrelling players | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nove 22: In a surprising moment at KK Hakku Stadium today, the players of the two rival teams started thrashing players of other side and the hockey coaches acting as ‘mum ducks’ enjoyed the fight which was later on stopped by outsiders who witnessed the players quarrelling with each other. Disregarding the spirit of the sportsmanship, the players of JK Police and Baba Bhag Singh Hockey Club, Poonch were witnessed quarrelling with each other. A number of players seen involved in manhandling when one of the players of JKP got hit by BBBHC Poonch accidently. The players from JKP then started manhandling the other team after saying some harsh words. The whole incident started after a misunderstanding that happened between the players after being hit by the player from Baba Banda Bahadur Hockey Club, Poonch. The dispute then settled down after the involvement of the officials who ousted them showing yellow card. Coach Hockey when contacted by Early Times said that the incident that happened today, started with a misunderstanding only as one of the player of JKP team got struck by the shoes of the opposite teams player. He further added, “ captains from both the teams were shown yellow cards and ousted out by the referee”. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police shall be playing against Namdhari XI in the final of the ongoing 2nd Sant Gurbaksh Singh (Danna) Memorial Hockey Tournament, organized by Sarab Sangat under the aegis of Hockey J&K, at K K Hakku Stadium, here tomorrow. |
