J&K teams fail to qualify for knock-out stages

JAMMU, Nov 22: Hosts Jammu and Kashmir could not make it to the knock-out round of quarterfinals after both boys and girls performed poorly in the league round of the ongoing 60th National School Games in under-14 badminton at different venues, here today.
Out of the three outings, both the teams could win just one match each. While in girls section, J&K defeated West Bengal only to lose other games played against Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Similarly, in boys' category, J&K lost to Chattisgarh and Odisha. The only match won by J&K was against Daman and Diu.
In the meantime, top eight girls' teams have been spotted in the quarterfinals round, starting tomorrow. These teams are Haryana, CBSE, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi and Punjab. Whereas in boys section, the league round was in progress when last reports were filed.
