Pangotra, Ajit conferred annual Pt Prem Nath Bhat amateur journalist award

JAMMU, Nov 22: Highly appreciating the struggle and role of Kashmiri Pandits during the 25 year long exile, Vice Chancellor, Jammu University, Prof R D Sharma today said the community has risen like the phoenix. Prof Sharma, who was the chief guest during the Pt. Prem Nath Bhat annual amateur journalist award function organized by Pt Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust here this afternoon, said the community mustered courage to face the odds during the exile.
It remained organized and struggled to inspire others how to face the trouble boldly. The community fought for the right course not for itself only but for the society as a whole by setting up these platforms, he said. Highly eulogizing the role of two amateur journalists, Kewal KrishanPangotra a free lancer and Adarsh Ajit who were presented the Pt. PremNath Bhat annual amateur journalist award for their contribution to society and highlighting the cause and plight of exiled Pandits, he said these two journalists have written a lot for oppressed and suppressed people. The Trust has done a good work by felicitating them so that more journalists can writer for the right cause, he added. Prof Sharma, said that both these journalists are serving the society and writing in strong words for a right cause.
The Trust has rightly recognized their services, he added. While expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri Pandit community he recalled his long association with it.
``I really understand pain and suffering you faced during the exile and you really struggled hard to come out of the mess'', he added. In his presidential address Dr K N Pandita expressed the hope that besides the amateur journalist award the Trust will also start the award in literature from next year. Highlighting the role of the, Trust he said it has done a lot of social work. He while highly acclaiming the role of two journalists who were felicitated today by the Trust he said it has done a great work to the society and acted as unbiased and bold journalists. Earlier Shiban Khebri a well known columnist and Dr KL Choudhary a renowned writer and physician read the citations of K K Pangotra and AdarshAjit respectively.
Both Sharma and AdarshAjit said that the award will continue to inspire them in future too. The migration of Pandits from Valley has been a concern for both these journalists who have written a lot in different papers and magazines on it. The award carrying a memento, shawl and a citation was presented to the duo by Prof R D Sharma, Dr K N Pandita and Swami Kumar Ji who was the special guest on the occasion. The vote of thanks was proposed by chairman of the Trust, Dr A N Pandita while the stage was managed by Sundri Lal Kaul.
