Partners in misgovernance, NC, Cong have become irrelevant in JK: Mehbooba | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Nov 22: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti today said the National Conference and Congress have lost their relevance and people have made up their mind to punish them in the upcoming assembly elections. She said voting for them is like opting for NOTA option. She was addressing various public meetings in Devsar assembly constituency in Kulgam district. Mohammad Sartaj Madni, deputy speaker of legislative assembly and party's candidate for Devsar constituency accompanied her. Mehbooba said National Conference and Congress are equally responsible for the destruction of the state. "Omar Abdullah had lost the popular support in 2010 and it was only with the backing of Congress that he supervised the killing of innocent in Kashmiris." She said adding Congress cannot escape responsibility. "Congress has been part to every single mistake, be it corruption, land grabbing, scams, scandals, Afzal Guroo's hanging or the oppression the National Conference-led government unleashed upon the people of Kashmir over the last six years," she said. She said be it a grenade attack on a peaceful crowd at PDP rally in Kulgam on Friday or firing outside the residence of Mohammad Yusuf Bhat, the party's candidate for Shopian, these are the signs of extreme cowardice and frustration on part of the National Conference which is feeling jittery by the growing popularity and appeal of the PDP among the people of the state. She said such incidents are not only meant to disrupt the ongoing electoral process in Jammu and Kashmir but also aimed at threaten the PDP by the National Conference which is sensing imminent defeat. |
