Kishtwar is in Jammu region not in Kashmir | Is Modi unaware about JK's topography? | | Sandeep Bhat Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 22: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaching out to Kashmiris from Kishtwar has made people in Jammu believe that either Modi is unaware about the topography of the area or he made a deliberate attempt to woo the voters in Kashmir. Otherwise everyone knows that Kishtwar is officially part of the Jammu region. The Prime Minister today started and ended his speech with Kashmir and Kashmir only. He apparently made an attempt to appease the people who advocate greater Kashmir comprising Kishtwar, Doda, Bhaderwah, Rajouri and Poonch areas. There are few elements in Kashmir who time to time have advocated to cut these Muslim majority areas from Jammu region and add it to already Muslim dominated Kashmir Valley and leave three to five districts to Jammu including Udhampur, Kathua, Samba, Jammu and Reasi. Interestingly, a few days ago the separatist turned mainstream politician Sajad Gani Lone met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and Sajad was the first person in Jammu and Kashmir who had mooted the idea of JK's trifurcation. His roadmap "Achievable Nationhood" clearly mentions that JK should be divided into three parts. Early Times correspondent spoke to many people on this issue. Sunita Kumari, an academician said: "Either Modi did it deliberately or he is ignorant about the topography of the area. Kishtwar everybody knows is a part of Jammu region officially and by saying Kashmiri youth and Kashmir repeatedly from Kishtwar has sent a wrong message to the people of Jammu. He should have concentrated on Kishtwar and its adjoining areas including Bhaderwah, Doda, Inderwal, Ramban and Banihal or should have addressed the area as Chenab valley." She added that he talked about bringing Bollywood back to Kashmir and providing employment to Kashmir youth only. "He forgot the people of Jammu who ensured that BJP wins both the parliamentary seats in the region," she said. Manjit Singh, a transporter said that before Kishtwar speech, he was diehard fan of Modi but him not making any mention of Jammu people in his speech and he (modi) ignoring the region has made him (Singh) change his mind. He said PM's advisors should have done their home work well, and he repeatedly said five years term, but it is actually six years term for Jammu and Kashmir. Again he was misinformed. Singh said, Modi repeatedly saying that he enjoys special relationship with Kashmir only and he totally skipping Jammu in his speech has hurt the sentiments of the people of the region. |
